MY GALLERY

The New Forest
I am lucky enough to live on the edge of this beautiful national park. My collection of images shows off its amazing sunrises and sunsets, mist and fog, icy ponds, and the carpet of purple heather in late summer. There are also some images of nearby coastal areas.

Rural Dorset
The Dorset countryside is full of variety; ancient castles, ruins and follies, carpets of bluebells and garlic in woods, treelined avenues. Unsurprisingly there are many misty scenes in this section, including the famous Corfe Castle.

Dorset Coast
The Dorset coastline and geology is stunning - particularly the cliffs of the Jurassic coast including the world famous Durdle Door and the rock ledges of Kimmeridge Bay. It's fair to say that my portfolio of images of this area needs more additions, I have yet to produce an image I like at Kimmeridge for instance. I do regularly catch a sunrise and a sunset at the quaysides of Mudeford and Christchurch.

Devon & Cornwall
Cornwall is one of my favourite counties and I still cannot believe that I saw the Aurora there, on that infamous night of 10 May 2024, where they were seen all over southern England. In Devon, I love atmospheric Dartmoor and the jagged lunar rocks of Hartland Quay. And I really don't mind which order the cream teas are!

Somerset
I always love shooting in Somerset. It is my home county; I am from Weston-super-Mare. The derelict pier in Weston and the low lighthouse at nearby Burnham on Sea are two of my favourite coastal locations. The area has the second most extreme tides in the world, I love to capture a long exposure during a high spring tide or the sand textures if the tide has just receeded.

Wiltshire
Wiltshire is an amazing county, great for capturing those seasonal colours. Home to Stourhead, Stonehenge and the rolling countryside of Salisbury Plain. The landscape is quite breathtaking and hard to do justice through my lens with poppy fields and even an enormous field of blue phacelia recently. I take care to respect boundaries, the farmers land and livelihood.

Around the UK
This section of my gallery is really anywhere away from the southwest; North Wales, a very rainy trip to the Lake District and a fantastic visit to see the starling murmuration in Brighton. If you take up landscape photography to say you are spoilt for choice with UK locations is an understatement, I have barely scratched the surface!

Iceland
I was lucky enough to have visited Iceland in March 2024. It was breathtaking with enormous skies and mountains, pristine snow and the Aurora Borealis.
